Abstract
Tribal and indigenous populations frequently employ Oxalis corniculata L., a wild edible herb that is neglected and underused. One such plant with notable antioxidant capacity and medicinal use is Oxalis corniculata L. It is well known that antioxidants may neutralize dangerous free radicals. Oxalis corniculata L. is an edible wild plant that is a member of the Oxalidaceae family. By assessing the phytochemical, antioxidant, and antidiabetic properties of the plant's ethanol and aqueous extracts, the nutritional and medicinal potential of the plant was investigated. To determine the phytoconstituents present, all of the extracts underwent qualitative phytochemical screening. The anti-diabetic impact of the conventional medication Metformin was investigated using α-amylase and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities. At dosages of 60, 80, and 100 µg/mL, ethanol extracts strongly inhibited both enzymes, indicating potential anti-diabetic action.
